SUN&MOON
Sun&Moon is a unique wall decor or an elegant center piece for the table by designer Artis Nimanis. It is a titanium-coated, glass art object in a burned oak frame, which can be hung on the wall or placed on a table as an exclusive serving platter.
Thanks to the original author’s technique, the glass surface is given a mirror effect, which, as it breaks the light beam, creates an illusory optical effect. These objects have the laconic circle shape, which in a way symbolises the Sun and the Moon, where each of them in their shape and colour is unique. The gleam of reflective surfaces changes the reflections of objects, people, and the premises, this way “absorbing” the surroundings.
The mirror has been historically considered as a symbol of the Sun and the Moon, the soul and wisdom, the truth and light. In Latvian mythology, the Sun and the Moon are also attributed an essential role: the sun rises every morning, replaced by the moon at night, this way demonstrating the continuity of life. Just as the Sun and the Moon in the infinite Universe, so too are mirrors in the past and the present mess with our minds with their metaphysical mystery, which opens up the door to unlimited imagination.

REBIRTH NECKLACE
Amber is a fossil from around 44 million years ago; it is well known with its history and myths and was also widely used during Soviet Union. I have seen it so many times polished and placed in metal frames. My great-grandmother used to have plenty of this kind of jewellery.
Repeated use of a similar approach to the material creates stereotypes. Amber is usually valued by its size, color, and inclusions. I aim to destroy this familiar perception and its accepted value by sewing, dyeing, and ignoring its inclusions; stepping away from what I have seen so many times before.
I use 14 K red gold whose, already obsolete, name is Russian gold. In contrast to that, I place it together with an amber cord made from amber fiber that was developed around ten years ago in Riga Technical University. I either spin or weave the cords by hand, dyeing it afterwards.

“THE QUEEN” DOUBLE LAMP
Hand-made lamp from naturally – exclusive materials. The exterior of The Queen lamp is made from corroding steel, while the inside of the lamp is covered with 23.75 carat gold plate. Its clean lines and simplicity characterizes the contemporary design lampshape. In turn, the ambitious combination of materials creates a truly impressive image of luxury design lamp. In this outstanding lamp the most valuable face of metal meets the poorest. These two surfaces are exclusively handmade; the Queen’s golden shine is guaranteed by the handcraft of expert goldsmiths, while nature draws naturally spontaneous and unpredictable patterns on the rust of lampshade.
Because each Mammalampa’s lampshade is hand-made exclusively with natural materials, each one is slightly unique.
